Gaysi is an online forum for the LGBTQIA+ community in India. I created a call-out poster for their annual zine with the theme Lesbianism. This year, the focus was on the many challenges that lesbians (and all women) face in society to be perceived as equals and to be seen beyond the sexualized imagery that they are often portrayed within. In this illustration I've used Botticelli's "The Birth of Venus" as inspiration because of it's historical context and how it was perceived in it's time for depicting nudity.
